Fun Time

Being a designer or a programmer is not so easy. Aside from all the technical complications, it can be tiring to sit still all day long. If your working hours are spent productively, it doesn't hurt to spare some time for a workout. You know how the proverb goes: a sound mind in a sound body. So don't hesitate to follow the example of these guys!

A small story about the tiny and strong character

http://academmedia.com/en/apps/nestling_return
Among the characters created by Academ Media team there is one touching case. A tiny nestling, living in his virtual world, set his mind on getting into our reality. One of the laws of our galaxy is that your wishes come true when you wish from the bottom of your heart. This little thing's tiny heart was bursting with this dream, as strong as any dream of a living creature can be. Sadly, the nestling didn't manage to reach our world, but still its wish was granted... the virtual world came to life. Just because somebody started playing this game!

We've considered this question seriously, since our quest is a complicated one: we've got to take an active part in your lives, to do real good to our customers. Analyzing the (still limited) experience we have under the belt, we realized that it's not enough to just produce high-quality products. You may ask: “But what else can 'a good company' stand for, then?”. Now we can answer this question with certainty: we must make our daily routine more inclusive and more focused on the goings-on of your lives. Our planet is brimming with discoveries and happenings, and all the joys and sorrows they cause we want to share with you.

Little about Academ Media

Today the 'True story' flashmob gets passed into other magic hands that keep the company stocked with ideas, helping to bring us together in the working process.
“Two years ago I started my career here as a French translator; today I'm thehead of the content management and translation department.
Since the very beginning I got the feeling this is the right place for me: I really enjoy working with foreign languages, I love creative challenges and bringing interesting ideas to life!
In a fairly small time our department became one of the largest in the company. Now we're a united team working on various projects together. The specific feature of working in our department is that you get the opportunity to find something that suits you well, that will grab your interest. As more and more new trends of development appear, interesting projects also multiply! Bookworms in our department specialize in e-books and audiobooks, gamers come up with plots for mobile games, sport fans work on ideas for sport apps, and so on. Every member of the team is a unique element of the whole that plays a valuable and crucial part in the creative work process.
Our staff enjoys not only working with ideas and markets, but also writing texts for the products they've just created with their own hands! At the moment we write texts in 15 European and Asian languages, make product descriptions, translate interface content – that's not mechanic work either, since we need to present the information in a way that will draw the visitors in!
We love everything we do here. But my saying so might give the wrong idea, as if we only relax and have fun all the time. Not at all! It definitely doesn't mean that we have it easy. We have to keep up with the newest trends, stay modern and up-to-date, meet deadlines for every task without fail and, of course, produce high-quality content.
We're always happy to have new people full of energy and creative vision in our department!
The member of the content team must know at least two foreign languages, be a good team worker and have the desire to grow. If a newbie isn't well-versed in mobile application business, but wants and strives to learn more about it, we're always ready to tell everything we know and share everything we learned from experience. On the other hand, we also welcome experienced workers who may be able to offer some of their own knowledge in return.
Working in Academ Media has taught me how to juggle several tasks at the same time, how to achieve the goals I've set and how to work in a team. Teamwork is an important concept in our company, the corporate spirit is something we value and cherish.
Academ Media company provides plenty of opportunities for growth, both personal and career. The main thing is to seize them and use them right! If you've only recently joined us, don't be shy, don't panic, be active, take initiative in your work, try yourself as a team leader – and your efforts will definitely be appreciated and rewarded!”

The blog about the good

It's great if your life is in perfect order, your dreams come true and you're basking in happiness. But it's time to discuss some things that should be everybody's business.
Today's topic is charity. Yes, it's as old as the hills, but the world we live in doesn't change much either. We won't talk about it at length, just touch on the high points. Sadly, for many people the ideas of charity are still deeply rooted in the common stereotype; this stereotype can be roughly summed up in an equation 'charity = large sums of money'. This is extremely misleading, since in lots and lots of situation no amount of money can affect the outcome.
http://academmedia.com/
We've been pondering a lot on what would be the best way to phrase our question: “What's the purpose of charity?” or “Why do people do charity work?”. In the end it turned out that both questions are worth asking. One of the developers from Academ Media team gave us answers.

“According to the traditional understanding, charity is any help you don't get compensation for. But every action has its own reasons, and charity work isn't an exception. Some people come to help because they adhere to the moral rules along these lines – 'you must help those around you'. Other people do it to fill the void inside – that is, frankly speaking, to draw some comfort from helping. For this kind of workers charity is a way of self-affirmation. On the other hand, there are also those who use charity for self-expression – they're fulfilled and have something they want to share with others. Unfortunately, the concepts of self-affirmation and self-expression often get mixed up. The former boils down to compensating for one's issues. The latter gives an answer to the question: “What am I living for?”.
In charity I found my own answer to this question. You know, it really helps to develop a taste for life, to head off to work with gusto. Every morning the thought of it makes me go through a long workout regimen – if I don't keep my body in a good shape, I won't be able to carry on doing what I want. Which is to juggle my job and charity work as well as I can manage. It's very important to really live these hours, to not let it become a chore.
Where to get energy and strength from... they'll come along the way, since you'll have a powerful source of motivation: putting a smile on children's faces. Each smile is a small success that's worth all your hard work and the effort you put in honing your skills.
Now I'd like to talk numbers. There's one hospital clowns association that has 160 volunteers working on a constant basis. These people live and work in a town with the population of 50 000. This speaks volumes.
Traumatology, surgery, hematology... I have gone through over 1200 hospital wards, meaning over 3000 kids know me as a clown with a simple nickname.”
